Namaste!

Meet Krissy, the passionate founder of Bala Bends, a children’s yoga and mindfulness program designed for all abilities. With an extensive background as a Special Education teacher in Boston Public Schools, she brings extensive experience from the classroom.

Recognizing the need for meaningful movement, Krissy introduced yoga to her students. She observed significant improvements in her students' focus, body awareness, coordination, and self-regulation. Yoga quickly became a sought-after activity, even facilitating reverse inclusion for her buddy classroom.

Understanding the transformative power of movement and mindfulness in early education, Krissy transitioned from the classroom to create Bala Bends. Her program integrates Social Emotional Learning (SEL), storytelling, and mindfulness to provide a holistic approach to children’s fitness and well-being. Her goal is to inspire kids to embrace movement, develop a strong growth-mindset, practice daily mindfulness, and enhance their social-emotional skills in a fun and inclusive way.
